Vocabulary
Study the vocabulary list on pages 101-102, sections 12.1.1 – 12.1.4 of your text book. (See page 73 in the 1986 edition.)
There are several new words in your homework assignment. Consult the Greek-English Vocabulary list on pages 277-296 of your text book. (see pages 209-214 in the 1986 edition.) For verb forms, you should consult this list of verbs showing their principle parts. (Or see verb forms listed on pages 91, 102, 103, 120,121 in your text book, or pages 63-66 in the 1986 edition.) In many instances, especially where a verb form is significantly different from its lexical from, a hyperlink will identify the lexical form for you.

Translate the following to English. Compare your translation with that found in a standard English translation of the New Testament. But don’t consult a translation until you have thoroughly worked through the passage on your own. For purposes of this exercise, your translation should more strictly reflect the syntax of the Greek text than does the wording found in some popular versions of the New Testament. E-mail your work. It will be returned to you with corrections and annotations.
