C1: L1; Orthography Tips

alpha (transliterated, a) is half height, made with one stroke.


beta (transliterated b) is full height, made with one stroke that begins below the line.


zeta (transliterated z, or dz internally) is full height, made with one stroke beginning at the top. Notice that the lower line splits the tail.


eta (transliterated as e pronounced as in they) is half height and has a final leg that drops below the line.


mu (transliterated m) is half height and begins below the line.


nu (transliterated n) is half height and must be pointed at the bottom to avoid confusion with υ


xi (transliterated x) is full height. Notice that the lower line splits the tail.


final sigma (transliterated s) is half height. Notice that the lower line splits the tail. It is similar to a c with a hook at the bottom.


chi (transliterated ch pronounced as in Bach) is half height, written in two strokes which cross just above the lower line.
